departure for galapagos islands, ecuador - day 8 - september 13, 2025

We slept forever this morning back at sea level - we are feeling much better! We had a nice breakfast at the Hotel Del Parque and headed to the airport for our flight to San Cristobal Island in the Galapagos Islands. We cleared immigration quickly and had a very excited dog check our bags.

We had a nice lunch at a local hotel complete with local dancers from the high school while we waited for out ship to be prepared.

We loaded up on inflatable rafts for out trip out to the Silver Sea Silver Origin - this a scary way to go, something that we will get very used to over the next seven days!

Once on the ship we had a afternoon of work to prepare ourselves for the days ahead on the Galapagos Islands - Muster Drill, Wet Suit Try On, Expedition Talk. We left port on San Cristobal Island and went by the famous Kicker Rock or Lion Rock on our way to enjoy the Galapagos Islands for the next week! Enjoyed an excellent dinner and headed to bed.
