silversea orgin - genovesa island, galapagos, ecuador - day 9 - september 14, 2025
Today we will visit Genovesa Island - we will have two walking tours and a snorkel trip!
Our first trip off the boat this morning is a wet landing with our naturalist Karina (who ended up being our very favorite). We saw Red Footed Boobies and many other birds. The experience of being on the Galapagos Islands is very unique. The wildlife is not afraid of you and you have to be careful not to step on them, a polite 6 foot radius is kept at all times!

We returned to the ship and Shelly went snorkeling - I decided that the water was too cold and I am pacing myself.

After Shelly’s snorkeling adventure we had lunch and rested a bit before heading out for the afternoon hike. We went up the Prince Philip’s Steps and saw our first Marine Iguanas and saw an Galapagos Short-Eared Owl (they are fairly rare).

We had dinner at the grill, an open air restaurant on the top deck of the ship - hot stone cooking - very tasty!
