maritime maine - Day 10 - October 13, 2024
We awoke to a cold morning at Mount Washington - first frost of the season! After enjoying another excellent breakfast at the resort we headed out toward Maine.
Our first stop was the Conway Scenic Railroad - we had a very nice private car and the little train goes up and back from Conway, New Hampshire to Lincoln, New Hampshire. The fall colors were nice, but it is not the most scenic ride.
We then dove to Bath, Maine. We had a nice lunch and some good beers at Bath Brewing. We then visited the Maine Maritime Museum. We had a nice guided tour and some time to see the Arleigh Burke Class Destroyers being built at the Bath Iron Works.
Dinner was special - we went to Cook’s Lobster and Ale House on Baily Island for a whole lobster class and eating! The restaurant was closed for the Sunday night so we were the only people there - it was fun and tasty!
