Manchester, Vermont - Day 5 - October 8, 2024
We had a rare sleep in morning in what is a foggy morning in Manchester, Vermont. We then traveled to Hildene, the summer home of Robert Todd Lincoln, the only surviving child of Abraham Lincoln.

Robert Todd Lincoln was a very successful businessman, Secretary of War for 2 Presidents, Ambassador to the United Kingdom and President of the Pullman Rialroad Car Company. His summer home is an incredible place complete with a pipe organ hidden in the walls, a goat farm, and a Pullman Car. When you are in Vermont they refer to these summer homes ad cottages, put they are huge estates with a lot of land!

We then traveled back to town to a private pond with beautiful fall colors for an excellent lunch and a fly fishing demonstration from a member of the staff at Orvis, which is headquartered in Manchester, Vermont.

We had a excellent dinner at the Reluctant Panther which was named after Catamounts who where scared during the construction if the restaurant and inn - it was one of out best dinners!
