Machu Picchu to cusco, peru - day 5 - september 10, 2025

This morning we awoke at Machu Picchu, we made the decision not to go back inside for a early morning visit, we were exhausted from the day before and we still have a lot of a trip to go! We had a excellent and quiet breakfast.

Mid-morning we began the journey to leave Machu Picchu - bus, train, then more bus, it is not the quickest place to access. We headed back toward Cusco with a stop along the way at a weaving demonstration and Llama, Alpaca, in Vicuna visit. We had to divide into smaller busses to navigate the streets of Cusco. We arrived at the hotel - the Belmond Monasterio Hotel for the next two nights. , The hotel is a former 16th century monastery and our room was huge!
