Boston - DayS 1-3 - October 4-6, 2024
Friday, October 4, 2024 - Travel Day
Today we flew from Albuquerque to Atlanta, then Atlanta to Boston. It was uneventful and much nicer than having to fly to Europe. We took a car to the Langham in downtown Boston, a beautiful hotel.
Saturday. October 5, 2024 - Boston Segway Tour and Opening Dinner
We awoke late this morning and had a great breakfast at Grana - the nice dining venue inside the Langham hotel. After breakfast we headed down to the Faneuil Hall Marketplace area on our wat to our Segway tour. We had an excellent 2 hour tour at Boston Segway Tours. Jay was an excellent guide. We had never ridden Segway’s before - they are super sensitive, bit once you get used to that they are quite simple to ride.

After our Segway tour we went to the Sam Adams Taproom for a beer or two - I was surprise how sore my feet were from the Segway ride, so the beer was quite enjoyable.

We returned to the hotel and rested a bit before the nights opening reception. Our tour director, Diane has been with Tauck for many years and seem excellent.

Sunday, October 6, 2024 - Tour of Boston and Lunch in the North End
We had another excellent breakfast at Grana in the Langham. We then took a bus tour around Boston and in the North End we divided into two groups - one stayed on the bus and the other went on a walking tour. We elected to take the walking tour. Our local guide, Larry took us on a 2 hour stroll along the Freedom Trail. It was a nice day! Our tour director, Diane met up with us about half way with pastries from Mikes - Mikes is a pastry shop in the North End that people line up around the block for!

We returned to the hotel for a rest before heading out for dinner at Trattoria Il Panino in the old North End for some real Bostonian Italian food. I had the Mom’s Quattro Carni Ragu and Shelly had the Ravioli di Ricotta and we shared a appetizer of Zucchini Flowers - all very excellent.
