LUCERNE - Day 12 - september 30, 2022
Today we had another lovely breakfast at the hotel followed by a hike around Lucerne. Lucerne is the most visited town in Switzerland. The Chapel Bridge is very famous and beautiful, a good bit of the bridge burned in 1993, but was restored - many of the paintings from 17th century were destroyed. We visited the grotto with the Lion of Lucerne, the lion is a monument to Swiss Guards that were massacred in 1792 during the French Revolution.
We had a down afternoon to prepare for our Farewell Dinner that night and our early morning flights back home. We took a boat accross Lake Lucerne to the restaurant at Hotel Baumgarten for the Farewell dinner - we were greeted with Alphorn and Swiss Flag on the dock. We had a fun evening with entertainment!
We left quite early the next morning for Zurich and our flights home.
